Lori Faitel is a local author from West Bloomfield.  Her book, "Am I Brain Damaged?" is an account of her experience after a devastating auto accident that nearly claimed her life.

 

Lori was separated from the crushed vehicle, using the jaws of life.  Twice on the way to the hospital, she was registered legally dead.  She was diagnosed with a closed-head injury and in a coma for 7 days as her body continued the fight to survive.  When Lori awoke from the coma, she was an infant in a 25 year old body.  She was able to write, but not speak or walk, so her memoirs of recovery begin here.

 

From the Author:  This book has been a life long accomplishment which I have been writing for over 20 years.  I pray that reading this book will enlighten the general population to what the brain injured are experiencing.  I am blessed to say that I lived thru a devastating traumatic brain injury in 1986. After a 7 day coma & 6 years of extensive therapy & self improvement/study I was able to return to the world of the Brain Non-Injured.  If I can rebuild myself anyone can.  Read my book and share in my thankfulness to be with you today and experience motivation as you never have before. 

 

Meet a local, modern day miracle!  Lori Faitel has made a full recovery, both mentally and physically with no visible signs of her injury.

 

Her book was released in the Spring of 2009 and has been a great success.  Lori has been to many book signings and met lots of people who are inspired by her story of recovery and survival.

 

Lori recently released a second edition of her book with a new cover and beautiful illustrations, including a photo of her sky diving in celebration of her victory!

Some customers out there are really simply afraid to complain... They'd rather switch companies than fight. But dissatisfied customers can wreak havoc on repeat business and word-of-mouth advertising.

Mr. Otten, president of professional Swedish Car Repair in Atlanta, ferreted out problems by telephoning all his customers one week after they visited either of his two locations. He set aside an hour or two a day to make 20 to 50 calls.

Customers remembered that the President of the company called them, and they really felt serviced. Mr. Otten got the customers to admit what was bothering them and address their problems right on the spot. The calls also kept his 12 employees on their toes. They knew that the boss was in touch with the frontline and wouldn't let anything slip by.

$100 Idea: 2 things to remember when using numbers in your sales copy…

  1. The numeral 9 is a faster read with more impact than the word nine. That's why you should use numerals whenever it's appropriate.

  2. $10,000.00 is perceived as being greater than $10,000. So, if you're promoting a sweepstakes, scholarship or the benefits of your product or service, include the extra digits. In this case, more is a good thing. However, when you're selling a product or service that costs $10,000 and your audience perceives it as expensive, drop the extra zeros.

$100 Idea: 3 Steps to improve the accuracy of your customers’ e-mail.


Customer e-mail error rates can run as high as 20%. How can you reduce these errors?
  1. Look at the text box on your sign-up page... is it long enough? If your customers can't see their entire e-mail addresses when they're typing, they can't tell if they made a typo. It should be at least 50 characters long.
  2. Look at the error message your site generates. Does it help customers understand what they've done wrong so they can fix the problems?
  3. Some sites use a double entry process: "enter your e-mail address", then "verify your e-mail address". You want to encourage people to type carefully, not force them to type twice. Many people simply cut and paste the faulty e-mail addresses from one box to the other so double entry registration rarely solves the problem.  The best method of self proofing is a confirmation page or a pop-up. Show what they typed again and they will probably notice typos or mistakes and go back and fix them.
Making a business decision is just common-sense, when you have the facts!
