When you’re buying a gift online for friends about to get married, a newborn baby, a recent grad, or anyone else, during the checkout process you’ll have to decide whether you want to pay for gift wrap. Is paying that added expense a smart move? To find out, we checked out the gift-wrap options from 10 major retailers, including Amazon, Macy’s, Target, and William Sonoma. The price of gift wrap online ranged from $3 to $6 per item, and the wrapping results ranged from chic to shabby.
